Kindergarten

All SD62 elementary schools offer full day kindergarten for our youngest learners. To register, children must turn five years of age by December 31 in the same calendar year that they begin school. Registration for kindergarten normally takes place in January.

Summer Reading Club (SRC) at Vancouver Island Regional Library (VIRL) is about to begin. With this year’s theme of Crack the Case, kids can find clues, solve mysteries, and participate in some great programs all summer long. Teens can also take part this year in a Lord of the Rings-themed quest called One Library to Rule Them All. Registration is open now open online (bcsrc.ca). After registering, participants can pick up their SRC package from any VIRL branch, which includes a mystery-solving reading record. Other ways kids can get involved range from participating in VIRL’s Spy Academy to registering for some case-cracking virtual programs.

You can now purchase your child’s school supplies for Hans Helgesen Elementary at Staples School Tools.
Ordering is easy:
1. Go to Staples.ca/SchoolTools
2. Click “Parents”, and search for your class by school name and grade.
3. Click on the correct class to see the list of items curated by your child’s school.
